Why Egypt and Jordan Are Perfect Destinations for a Family Vacation

Image
During the Easter holidays in April, I was debating where to travel. When traveling with children, the options are often quite similar. The destination shouldn't be too dangerous, too physically demanding, or too hot or cold. There must be access to good-quality food, and there should be enough opportunities to rest. Naturally, these criteria lead most people to well-known tourist destinations. But those popular places often come with large crowds, which can quickly exhaust children. In the end, most families end up choosing a resort. My friends and family all seemed to share the same opinion. So when you choose a place that isn't a resort, it can seem like you're deliberately choosing hardship. Nevertheless, I chose Egypt and Jordan as our family travel destinations. That’s when people around me began offering unsolicited concerns: “Why are you making the kids suffer on purpose?” “What if they get hurt over there?” “I heard there are scams and unfriendly loc...

Český Krumlov: A Winter Visit

Image
I have been to Český Krumlov twice before. I visited while attending a conference in Prague with other colleagues. On one of those trips, I joined a guided tour. Even now, if I revisit the Czech Republic, I still want to go to Český Krumlov, and if possible, I would like to stay there for a night. The castle, built over centuries, and the town below it, nestled along the riverside and surrounded by hills, remind me of a warm, fairy-tale-like medieval fortress. The natural surroundings, the colorful rooftops, and the flowers blooming in various corners are etched into my memory. On top of that, there are delicious meals and drinks to enjoy. During the day, the town is crowded with tourists, but as the sun sets, the sounds of people gradually fade, leaving behind a peaceful stillness. I have always wanted to visit this place with my family. My decision to choose Prague as a winter travel destination in Central Europe was also related to this wish.   Is Nail Biting a Disease? Onychophagia refers to the habitual act of nail-biting, which typically begins in childhood or adolescence. Approximately 20–30% of the general population experiences this habit, which tends to occur more frequently under stress or tension. While some may consider it a simple bad habit, severe cases can lead to damage to the nails and surrounding tissue or be associated with psychological issues. However, it is important to note that not all individuals who bite their nails have psychological problems. Additionally, onychophagia differs from onychotillomania, in which a person damages their nails and surrounding skin by picking or scratching rather than biting. Nail biting is often a temporary behavior that can occur in anyone and usually disappears over time. However, pathological nail biting is characterized by increased frequency, intensity, and duration compared to the general population. The distinction between normal and pathological nail-biting re...
